Brazil (Cumbuco / Cauipe)
Arriving at the airport, the first thing that will hit you
is the sultrily hot air. Don’t let yourself be influence by
it, very soon you will start loving the tropical climate. Upon boarding
the bus you will notice the kind manner of the Brazilians. The two
most important words in Portuguese are “Tudo bem?” which
means “Everything okay?” The thumbs up is already a
ritual. The brazilian population is diversified the same as all
the supply offers of the country
They talk Portuguese and the usual currency is the Real. With your
EC-card or your credit-card you can get money at the cash machine.
This could be a problem in Fortalenza where there are only 3 cash
machines. Therefore we suggest US$ in cash, Traveller cheques or
Euro. In bigger hotels you may get a favourable exchange-rate.
On our way to Cumbuco, which takes us around 30 minutes we first
pass through Fortaleza a small city with city vibes. Cumbuco ia
a little quiet town with almost 1000 inhabitants. With accommodation,
we can offer two alternatives. Both are located directly by the
sea. The Hotel Paradise offers a very good service, spacious rooms
and air-conditioning. Internet connection is available in the hotel.
European standard can be expected. A little more low-budget is Hotel
Pousada Tendas. It is a little remote from the center, which does
not mean they have worse service. On the contrary, you will find
a very warm atmosphere. The Chalets are fitted out very generously
and beautifully .Every accommodation unit comes with private living
and sleeping area.

Cumbuco - Here you can forget the stress from home. At one of the
most beautiful beach sections of the region you can relax and concentrate
on the essentials – Kitesurfing!
The best time for kitesurfing is from June to February. During this
time you are well-equipped with 10 and 15 sqm kites. For the wintertime
you probably need a 8 sqm as well. In the so-called rainy season
from February to June it does not mean it’s just raining and
there is no wind. Most of the time it rains at night and the wind
is a little less strong during the day. With kites between 12 and
18qm you are well-equipped.
30 kilometers from Fortaleza is a lagoon named Cauipe. Here you
will find warm, flat and not very deep freshwater. Nowhere is it
easier to learn to kite up-wind. Cauipe has become a popular destination
to kite so you may experience some kite-traffic. But keep in mind,
Brazil offers more than 7000 km of coast, and this is a big enough
Kitebeach, we guess !!!
To escape from this trouble, just change the area and kite on the
sea. For this you should already be an advanced rider, or accompanied
by one of our team.
To be as mobile and flexible as possible we rent a jeep, so that
we can find all the exotic places. Believe us, Kitesurfing in Brazil
is unforgettable. The nightlife in Cumbuco is a little more quiet.
You will enjoy the relaxing atmosphere in the little restaurants
near the beach. Of course we can drive to Fortaleza for a little
more excitement.. Here there are a multitude of culinary and after
dark venues..
We can only emphasize - Welcome to Brazil!
